Myanmar is being torn apart by war.
Parents tell us their greatest need is for their kids to be in school.
They know that when a child is educated, they become unstoppable.
So at the request of local communities, we’re supporting three brave initiatives to help ensure children get the full education they deserve, right from elementary to the college level.
A gift of $30 supports a child for a month through these initatives.
A SAFE place to study.
Supporting community-based homes that provide for the physical and emotional needs of kids who’ve fled fighting back home so they can stay in school.
Well-RESOURCED schools.
Partnering with the Karen Education Department to train teachers, provide school supplies, and support students' exams at schools where conflict is active.
A PATHWAY to university.
Equipping youth to undertake the GED exam and gain an internationally recognised diploma that opens the door to higher education.
Making dreams possible.
"I had no access to higher education."
For many young people, university is the next step in their journey after graduating high school. But what if your high school diploma isn’t recognized? In Myanmar, students like Saw Phoe Pih, who have already defied the odds to complete high school, are faced with this question. Studying in an education system that isn’t recognized by the government means many of these students are left with no path to university. Until now.
Let's do this.
155 students are ready and waiting to be unleashed.
Your donation this #GivingTuesday will fuel brave education initiatives that champion them to become unstoppable.
